We believe a few things pretty firmly:

• Clothing shouldn’t cost extra because you need a bigger size. Every M&Q tee is one flat price for every size.
• Shipping should be free. Full stop. No minimums, no codes.

The ‘It’s Just a Phrase’ Collection

The Origin

It’s Just A Phrase (can also be read as It’s Just a Phase) started with a question that’s harder than it sounds: what do you put on a t-shirt that’s actually worth saying? Not a logo. Not something ironic for the sake of it. Something that lands because it’s true, the kind of thing people recognize the second they read it, because they’ve said it themselves, probably recently.

The It’s Just a Phrase Collection was the answer to that question. It started with a handful of phrases that kept coming up in real life, the ones people text each other, mutter under their breath, or say out loud to no one in particular at 3 pm on a Wednesday.

We put them on tees, and the response was immediate. Turns out a lot of people are ‘just existing at this point’ and were glad someone finally said so.

What Makes It Distinct

The Phrase Collection is M&Q’s flagship line and the one that started it all. Where the other collections are rooted in place, Oklahoma & Tulsa, this one is rooted in shared experience. The designs aren’t about where you’re from. They’re about where you are right now, emotionally, which turns out to be a place a lot of people have in common.

The OK State Collection

The Origin

Oklahoma gets underestimated. That’s not a complaint, it’s just an observation from people who’ve lived here long enough to stop being surprised by it. The OK State Collection started with a simple premise: Oklahoma doesn’t need to oversell itself. It just needs a tee that says so.

We wanted to make something for Oklahomans that felt honest,  not the chamber of commerce version of state pride, and not the apologetic version either. Just the real one. The kind that knows what it is and doesn’t need your validation, thanks.

What Makes It Distinct

The OK State Collection is built around the double meaning that’s been there all along: Oklahoma is both the OK State and the state that’s okay with being called that. The ‘OK!’ and ‘Oklahoma is ok!’ designs carry that energy, confident, dry, and a little self-aware. The distressed versions add a worn-in quality that feels right for a state that’s been through some things and is still here.

The Origin

M&Q Inc. is a Tulsa brand. That’s not just a fact about our address, it’s the reason the 918 Collection exists. At some point, it became obvious that we were making tees for people who relate to life in a certain kind of dry, honest way, and a lot of those people were from Tulsa. A city that’s been quietly getting better for a while and is just recently getting the credit it had coming.

The 918 Collection is the most personal thing we make. It’s built for the people who know what the area code means without being told, the ones who grew up here, who moved here and stayed, or who left and still bring it up when someone asks where they’re from.

What Makes It Distinct

The colorways for the 918 collection were chosen for a reason. Tulsa Blue for the city’s identity. Woodland Green for the trails and river parks that don’t get enough credit. Snow White for the version that goes with everything and doesn’t need to announce itself. Tulsa Gold for the city at its best, the art deco skyline, the golden hour over the Arkansas, the version of Tulsa that people who love it can picture without trying.
